Book Review – Olympic Lyon: The Untold Story of the Last Gold Medal

I just finished reading an easy to read and very new book by Michael Cochrane. The world will hear more when golf is returned to the Rio Olympics this summer and find out that the veteran George S. Lyon, the Canadian from a small town near Ottawa, defeated the young, reigning U.S. Amateur Champion Chandler Egan to bring home the gold in 1904. You will learn why the UK did not send its golfers to St. Louis and how politics intruded. And Mr. Lyon was 46 years old—the same age when Jack scored his improbable win at Augusta National in 1986.
