Golden Gorse in Scotland

|

Later April and May can be very good months to play golf in Scotland. This period falls before the tee sheets fill with North Americans fixated on links golf and others who want to escape the doldrums of everyday life. And the golden gorse sparkles while bracketing fairways. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye but an obvious hazard to wayward shots, they only show their beauty for a mere six weeks before going back to grey. Don’t put your head or arms in there for a Taylor Made or you will be sorry. Take your drop and thank yourself for playing at this fine time of year.
