Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward Island or PEI as Canadians know it was a forerunner of marketing this Eastern Canadian province as Canada’s finest golf destination https://www.top100golfcourses.com/golf-courses/north-america/canada/prince-edward-island. Although Cabot Cape Breton and Nova Scotia have stolen attention, this small island offers the most golf courses per capita of other places in Canada. Many of you have heard of Links at Crowbush Cove and the 36 hole combination of Dundarave and Brudenell River. Stanley Thompson’s, Green Gables, Glasgow Hills and Mill River are others you can add to the mix. Speaking of Anne of Green Gables, Japanese tourists use to flock here to hear the stories of this famous young girl. The small PEI capital of Charlottetown is charming and offers a history lesson—this is where Canada was born following the Charlottetown Conference in 1864. Smaller towns like Victoria-by-the-Sea and Summerside are worth visits along with seeing the 61 lighthouses spread throughout Canada’s smallest province. I see PEI as the epitome of turning the clock back in time to more civil and calming times. Fantastic seafood and generous Maritimer hospitality are also strong selling features. And if you have the chance, drive the 12.9 km long Confederation Bridge that links New Brunswick and PEI like I did. It is certainly disconcerting travelling this architectural marvel and especially when you are half way out and you see nothing, I mean nothing but the bridge and ocean (what happens if you run out of gas?). A scenic round of golf along with your delicious shrimp and lobster meal will help steady your nerves following this adventure! Glad to speak with you so you can learn more or I can build an itinerary for your next custom golf trip. I can be contacted at 250-864-4051, wayne@athlonegolftours.com in British Columbia.
