Did you know this about Canada as a golf destination?
The world appreciates magnificent Niagara Falls, Ontario and many visit to see this great wonder. But did you know there is fine golf played in the area and lots of history? Sitting about 90 minutes from the Big Smoke of Toronto, you can make this a place to see the tourist traps like the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! or the wax museum, sip your favourite wines in the local Niagara vineyards and play fine golf at Grand Niagara, the two courses at Legends of Niagara, the Stanley Thompson jewel at Whirlpool and for those who want a flavour of Long John Daly’s design then you experience Thundering Waters. I also like to highlight the nearby charming village and British-flavoured Niagara-on-the-Lake. I feel this is a better place to stay to get your golf fix and you can even enjoy a Shaw Festival play. And, you can play the oldest golf course in North America at the 9-holer in N-O-T-L. As for history? A short drive from this town, you can view where the Yankees invaded by crossing Niagara River to challenge the British, Canadians, Métis and First Nations in an effort to expand their nation’s reach. The Americans lost this 1812 War and alas, Canadians remain connected to the Crown and sip tea. Glad to speak with you so you can learn more or I can build an itinerary for your next custom golf trip. I can be contacted at 250-864-4051, wayne@athlonegolftours.com in British Columbia.
