Canada for all year round golf?

Manitoba. Nope. Ontario. Nope. Parts of British Columbia. Yes Sir! Americans are very fortunate that they can play golf in places year round, especially in their sunny south. Canada has a couple of pockets in BC. Vancouver is one and rain will be in abundance and will be chilly. Southern Vancouver Island near Victoria offers this special spot that stirs Canadian golfing passion. Now this is not Florida type golf. Cool weather and rain yes. Cool…oh yes indeed.. .But I absolutely know you can play year round because I have done it in Oak Bay at Victoria Golf Club along the Pacific Ocean in February. You can experience snow one day and then voila it disappears and you can golf along the ocean with a few layers of your favourite pullovers and Galvin Green. Other golf courses in the area like Cordova Bay, Uplands and Gorge Vale fit into this picture as well. I reside in interior BC in the Okanagan Valley that has semi-desert weather but golf courses close near the end of October and then powder skiing at Big White commences. I love the unique idea of a proud Canuck golfing year around and we are making the big switch and moving to Oak Bay next spring. Peering across the Pacific Ocean to the U.S. with mountains in the background from Oak Bay marina or one of the Victoria area courses will bring a smile to my face. And bragging rights to other Canadians that I hit shots into greens during the Great White North’s winter…with maybe a colourful toque on my lid. Glad to speak with you so you can learn more or I can build an itinerary for your next custom golf trip. Remember that the Canadian dollar is trading at about .7 compared to the U.S. dollar and will probably drop further when our friend President Trump takes office. It is a great time to visit beautiful Canada! I can be contacted at 250-864-4051, wayne@athlonegolftours.com in British Columbia.
