Groundhog Day, Gophers and Golf

Do you feel as though the pandemic is like re-living February 2nd everyday like Bill Murray experienced in the Groundhog Day movie? Yes, you are nodding. I prefer not to think of this one and watch Caddyshack and Carl Spackler’s pursuit of the gopher-the other furry critter. At least this reminded me of a golf course and better times with lots of great lines in this flick. Now, if I played with Bill Murray at Pebble Beach during the annual Pro-Am then that would be even better. Murray could make me laugh constantly while entertaining the crowds and slicing a ball so far right that we don’t care. And we could peer to the wonderful Pacific Ocean, watch the seals frolic and think of a better future. We have months of pain to go as COVID-19 spreads its ugly tentacles. The vaccine is now rolling out and provides us with hope for returning to a “new” normal. Patience my friends. Watch Caddyshack again. Laugh at Ted Knight and Dangerfield. Dream of golf travel to Pebble, Old Head, Cabot or even playing at the local golf course. I’m Alright, don’t nobody worry ‘bout me. This song from Loggins sets me free.
