What is golf’s new stickability?

Full tee sheets. Mandated solo riders on power carts. Five and six-some groups. Elbow taps and club clunking after finishing a round. Golf has its traditions and I embrace them. This year’s pandemic onslaught however has forced us to adapt to many changes. I get it and it is necessary for this once in a century black swan event. I love hearing that Canadian golf courses have been busier this year. Will this trend continue? Walking a course is my preference but at least golfers can ride. Hearing about groups of 5 and 6 players, well I certainly don’t agree with that moving forward. I do however, understand why it has happened and some will argue its merit. I love the hand shake and doffing of the cap to end the round. It brings closure to a fine day of golf and comradeship before heading into the clubhouse for a drink and conversation. We shall see what new rules and behaviour changes are forced upon us in 2021. There is some COVID-19 pain to go but isn’t it nice to at least get outside and play such a fine social spacing sport! What do you think will stick in the future on golf courses during these ummmm…most uneasy and turbulent times?
