Pea Soup no good for golfers or triathletes

|

When I first moved to the Okanagan Valley five years ago from Ontario I told Alison to take in a breath of fresh, beautiful BC air. Not today. 568,000 hectares of fires have been burning in BC since April and it’s the worst air on planet earth. I describe it as what a nuclear winter might look like. The toxic smell and this 10+ air quality index makes you stay indoors. They cancelled Kelowna’s triathlon this past weekend. Golfers will certainly not enjoy playing under these circumstances. Smoke will continue to linger for days. The new normal it seems after last year’s horrible fire season.
