A chat with course architect Mr. Kidd
Do you choose to play a course based on the designer? I had the privilege to have dinner with David McLay Kidd recently in Bend, OR. We spoke about his terrific new design of Mammoth Dunes in WI. My first exposure of David’s great work was at Bandon Dunes in 2006. Incredible. I played rock and roll Tetherow in Bend and love Gamble Sands in Washington near me in BC. We chatted about Machrihanish Dunes and The Castle Course in Scotland. His take on his courses is not be irrelevant and to allow you to like or dislike them. Cool. What is your most cherished experience on this Scotman’s courses?
