Are you a ball hawk on a golf course?
A ball retriever or scoop. Did you have this tool in your golf bag? I did when I was young. I remember after putting for nickels and consuming Orange Fanta pop, I ventured to the Craigowan Golf Club creeks in Woodstock, Ontario to watch lumbering snapping turtles and search for balls. We hoped to scoop out a nice balata or find a Titleist DT surlyn ball. But not a cheap and tired Canada Cup with a huge smile in it. I would toss that jalopy back into the middle of the creek. My evil strategy was to force another ball hawk to extend his own retriever the maximum three levels and slump his shoulders with the disappointing result. It was fun to see what treasures you could find in the banks and churned water. Beat buying them in the pro shop on my tiny allowance. I rarely see the scoop anymore in the golf bag. Mine has long been forgotten. I guess my thought is that if you have one then you have to use it during the round. That probably means double bogey and is bad karma from my view. What is your favourite ball hawk memory to share?
