Can’t LIV and PGA Tour Just Get Along?

Bobby Jones is rolling in his grave. Golf is supposed be above the fray and a game of civility. Now that the LIV Tour has barrelled its way into the golf conversation and the PGA responds with counterpunches, I shake my head. Egos, incredible money incentives, switching sides, divisions, calls of traitors. Social media then stirs it up further and people rage and express their important opinions. Come on. Golf was decreasing in popularity until COVID plunked itself on the world and our wonderful game became hip once again. Now the world sees professional golfers making their own decisions on what is right for them. They could be twisting the facts or saying it is for the money. Both sides should settle down and bring back the old days where it is a gentleman’s game and stop the negative venting. It shouldn’t be like Conor McGregor punching his opponent but be done more subtly like watching Jack drain a 4-footer for a major win and celebrating golf’s victory.  No need for theatrics and histrionics.
