Flying the Golf Ball over that Something…
A stone wall. A Druid burial ground. The corner of a hotel. An enormous dune. Or, the Pacific Ocean. These are some of the hurdles or for many like me, exhilarations you face at North Berwick, Old Head, The Old Course, Ballybunion and Pebble respectively. There is excitement when sizing up such a formidable barrier of nature or man. Nerves can jangle and you need to keep your head down to air the ball and land it safely on the other side. Such golf holes are etched in my memory vault. Striking such shots produce a laser focus versus just hitting another straight-assed drive with no danger in sight. What is your fondest memory of flying your ball over?
