New at No. 2 at the Home of American Golf

As my ball trickled off the green again on one of the turtleback greens at Pinehurst No. 2 this week during the IAGTO NAC Conference, it reminded me of playing here over 10 years ago. The new Crenshaw/Coore updated design is a pleasure to play but scores soar when managaing these billiard table like fast greens and hitting out of the waste bunkers. I liked the new look that harkens to the past when Donald Ross first built this treasure in the North Carolina Sandhills. You certainly appreciate how well Kaymer played in 2014 and you can’t forget about Campbell’s and Stewart’s fine U.S. Open Victories on No. 2. Southern charm and golf at its best.
