Take Hats off in the Golf Clubhouse
Since my piece about music on the golf course was a popular one, I thought I would tackle another pet peeve of mine: hats worn in the clubhouse. My father, Sam Morgan, raised me to take my headgear off when entering the Craigowan clubhouse. Respect and traditions were the reasons and I adhere to his advice to this day. I see North Americans continue to don their hats inside. I disapprove. If you tried doing this in the UK or Ireland a local member would quickly tap you on the shoulder and politiely tell you to take the hat off. You will even find signs spellling this out to golfers. Where do you sit on this subject?
