135 from the Bottle

|

I sized up my shot on the second hole of the fine links style Château Course at Le Golf du Médoc this week and calculated my pin distance. Usually the 150 yard marker is a white post or small tree. But since I was in France and in the Bordeaux region there were two considerations. One: it said 135 and is in metres (brain says to add an extra club). Two: the large wooden bottle of a Bordeaux red signifiying my distance marker made me thirsty for a glass. The French do it differently on the course and off and do it very well.
