99 and 9 at Banff Springs

The Great One whizzed by me in his cart. Wayne Gretzky was just finishing his charity tournament while I was just starting my nine holes at Banff Springs. Joined by a New Brunswicker we played this spectacular Stanley Thompson course. Watching my tee shot disappear into the mountain backdrop into the Devil’s Cauldron’s green to about six feet, admiring four deer on the sixth, viewing the rushing river on the 8th and breathing in the fresh, Albertan air provided me cherished memories. Although I did not chat with #99 I am sure he would agree that time spent here is a privilege.
