Vikings, Jamesons and Portmarnock Hotel

“That is were the Vikings first landed in Ireland”. My friendly host, Moira Cassidy from Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links pointed. I peered at this island and then to Ireland’s Eye. We played a few holes on their testing links course after I indulged a burger in their rustic Jameson Bar. Pretty villages of Malahide and Howth are close by and you can walk miles along the beach. Golfers will like staying at this ex-Jameson family home for its ambiance, history, food, and links golf. It sits only 10 minutes from Dublin Airport, a short cab ride to downtown Dublin and resides near other fine links courses.
