Leaving the Golf Pin In

While admiring Tiger’s win at the Masters, I also eyed which players kept the pin in while putting. In our recent annual secret golf trip to Utah, our group of good friends left the pin in while putting throughout the four rounds. Hmmm…we did not discuss this beforehand on what our choices would be. We just tried it and all of us believed this strategy worked well. My litmus test was to see if one of the putts would clunk off the pin and stay out like DeChambeau’s did on the 18th from the fairway but I did not see it. Speed of play was good. I only saw Scott, Molinari and DeChambeau go this route a few times at the Masters. Nice option for all golfers to have.
