Luddite Golfer and Traditions

45 minute mandatory, fantastic lunches in Japan. Removing headgear in a venerable Irish golf club. Walking 18 holes in the drizzle at a fine parkland course. Great traditions. Are we so narcissistic to think golf should bend to our demands? Plow through lunch, wear the logo’d hat in the lounge because we feel like it or take a buggy because we are lazy. Yes, I am a proud traditionalist and see golf wonderful for what it is. Maybe some tinkering but not a major overhaul. My father taught me well with golf’s manners and etiquette when I was 5. Time for us to take a step back and think whether we should be the ones that should adapt to golf and not the other way around.
