A Special, Private Whisky Tasting Session
My good friend Terry has an extremely impressive whisky collection and bar. He generously offered to have me sample some of his fine ones in Ontario. Well, my McGill and McLay in me from my mother’s side emphatically told me to say Yes and who am I to argue? I thought it best to line them up and reference each with a wonderful Scottish links or heathlands golf course that resides in the region of the whisky. I started with Bruichladdich Black Art 1994 on Islay (Machrie Golf Club). Next came Tullibardine, 25 years in Perthshire (Gleneagles). How about Lismore, 21 years, A.D. Rattray, 10 years and 60.2% and Johnnie Walker XR-21 21 years from Speyside (Moray Golf Club’s two courses and Typhoon jets and Boat of Garten)? Heavliy peated Jura Propless 46% (spectacular Ardin Estate). Glenmorangie Signet (Tain Golf Club). By the time I finished this whisky tasting, I believe I had a Highlander’s accent and could conquer Royal Dornoch in 63 strokes. Thank you Terry I said with a new found Scottish Burr and not a slur…
