Golf Round with Stanley Thompson

This name will mean something to Canadian golfers and those who love golf course architecture https://www.stanleythompson.com. Stanley is a Canadian icon and ranks among the best ever when the golden age of golf course development took place. I enjoyed playing golf with his great nephew Stan in West Kelowna, BC at Shannon Lake. I learned that Capilano is best played in May when flowers are out, he grew up knowing Whirlpool In Niagara Falls, Jasper Park has the Stanley Thompson Cabin and the lesser known Ladies Golf Club of Toronto is better than expected. From Highlands Links in Cape Breton through Brantford, Ontario and Capilano in beautiful BC, Mr. Thompson was prolific. He even built fine courses internationally. It means something when you say you played one of Thompson’s 180 courses. I mentioned to Stan that golf history is important to me and am a member of the Golf Historical Society of Canada where hickories are favoured by many members. How about a hickory round from the front tees at his beautiful Banff Springs with the world famous hotel in the background and a bear lurking near the green? Stan and Stanley would approve of this truly Canadian experience.
