Japan and Olympic Golf in 2021 (Maybe)

|

The jury is still out on whether the Tokyo Summer Olympic Games will take place this year due to the pandemic’s impact on the global scene. Justin Rose hopes to defend his Olympic gold golf medal. Japan has a rich history in golf and possesses 2200+ courses. Some of these names will be familiar-Aoki, Ozaki, Nakajima, Matsuyama and Shibuno. Having thoroughly enjoyed visiting different regions of Japan including Okinawa over two trips, I can attest for their love of the game and traditions. Wearing jackets in the clubhouse, mandatory and wonderful lunches between nines and beautiful golf courses makes this a compelling golf destination. The private golf course Kasumigaseki Country Club will host this year and many eyes will be upon it. I am glad golf has re-entered the Olympics after returning to Rio after a 112 year hiatus (a Canadian George S. Lyon was the last winner before Rose). I highly recommend you consider a golf trip to Japan. Great courses, sights, people and the best seafood and meat dishes you will eat in your life!
